A few Saturdays ago I visited the beautiful city of Bath for the day with one of my best friends. No set plans, aside from seeing Jack Savoretti later on that evening (you can read about that here) and hopeful for afternoon tea somewhere. We wandered around before stumbling across this hidden gem…

Jolly’s Tea Room is tucked away from the main street, but it somehow managed to catch my eye as we were looking out for the perfect afternoon tea pit stop for our girls day out. The exterior seemed inviting, so we popped our heads in to see what the menu had to offer.

There was cake. Lots of it. What more could a girl ask for?

After picking our sweet treats and choice of tea, we sat back, relaxed and enjoyed a couple of hours chatting about everything from work to holidays… bliss! Whilst H sipped on a herbal tea and devoured a delicious chocolatey yoghurt twist, I indulged in a chunk of rainbow sponge with sprinkles – it was heavenly!

The tea room is actually located within Jolly’s Department Store, and offers a great selection of food and drink – catering for breakfast meetings, lunch dates and afternoon tea. They have something for everyone, which is something I personally look for when picking out places to go with friends and family. The decor is particularly dreamy for a tea room, mixing traditional aspects with modern touches… I’m particularly obsessed with the china cups dangling from the window with the flowers and bows!

If you find yourself in beautiful Bath, I’d highly recommend a visit to Jolly’s Tea Room – if only for a slice of the rainbow cake!
