Brunch at Boston Tea Party has always been a favourite pastime of mine. I remember most Saturdays my bestie and I would always find the excuse after a circuits class to go to BTP for the eggs benedict and revel in how good we felt (I mean, we earnt that breakfast, right?)

Read on to find out more about the new menu and who we bumped into…

Boston Tea Party recently got in touch with me to tell me about their new breakfast menu. I thought it would be the perfect excuse to take Dan out on a brunch date, making a change from our usual avo and sausage sarnies we have at home on Saturday mornings.

The lovely Ellie took our order and chatted about the new menu. It had gone 11 o’clock and we’d only had one coffee so we were keen to order the new guest blends. I opted for my usual cappuccino with the Terruño coffee and Dan went for the latte. The blend was gorgeous and gave the drinks an even creamier taste. Also, can we just appreciate the latte art for a second?

After chatting about how we’d spotted Chris Hughes on the other side of the room (probably enjoying the new breakfast menu too), we spotted our food coming to the table and it didn’t disappoint.

Dan went for the Cheddar & Jalapeño Cornbread.  A spicy sweet cornbread with bacon, chorizo, smashed avocado, punchy tomato salsa, cool yoghurt and a kick of Tabasco maple syrup.

Everything on the plate complimented each other in some way, and as Dan doesn’t eat egg they were happy to switch it for the meat with no fuss. I managed to take a cheeky bite of the bread and chorizo and it was delicious.

Naturally, I went for the Avo on Sourdough toast. Smashed avocado with toasted sourdough, topped with chillies, crunchy radish, mustard cress and two soft poached eggs.

The eggs were cooked perfectly and the crunchy radish slices were a welcome addition to the dish.

It was the perfect brunch date.

The new menu also offers Rye Bread Porridge but this sounded way too healthy for the weekend, right?
