January Beauty Favourites 2017

It’s been a while since I’ve sat down to write a beauty post. In fact, I don’t think I’ve written one since June – so it’s long overdue! There have been quite a few beauty favourites this month that I’ve wanted to share on the blog, and apart from two ‘holy grail’ products, they’re all new discoveries too.

New! Tanya Burr Lip Glosses

When I heard that blogger and vlogger extraordinaire Tanya Burr was releasing more lip gloss colours I knew I had to get my hands on them.

The new collection was released last month, with 8 new shades and a limited Christmas edition. I wanted to wait for a couple of weeks before trying them myself to see colour reviews, and the verdict was in – I needed ‘Lunch Date’ and ‘Enchanted Forest’ in my life. Tanya has been wearing the former shade in her Vlogmas videos all month and looked so gorgeous on her, I had to try it for myself.

What I would describe as a mix of ‘Picnic in the Park’ and ‘Chic’ (two glosses from her first collection with Eye Candy), this pretty nude pink colour is a perfect daytime shade. The same formula with the delicious strawberry scent, it has replaced the other two in my makeup bag for the Christmas period as my handbag essential lip product to wear. Even my Mum loves it so it looks like another will be purchased very soon…

‘Enchanted Forest’ is a gorgeous berry toned gloss that reminds me of a deeper ‘Exotic Island’ purple shade. I would first say, don’t be put off by how it appears in the tube, it doesn’t come out anywhere near as dark. Perfect for the Winter months, this colour will look great for nights out as well as cold winter days with your favourite knitted sweater wear. The best thing about these lip glosses is the layering – keep it to one application for a subtle look or layer on the colour for more intensity!

For £6.99, this is the perfect stocking filler for Christmas (or as a cheeky post-Christmas/pre New Years purchase) – I bought mine on Feel Unique but can be purchased in store at Superdrug. I’m eager to try the other shades so I’m sure it won’t be that long until another post is on the cards….

Let me know if you’re a fan of TB’s products too, and link me to any reviews you’ve done 🙂

Get Glam for New Year’s Eve: Lips and Nails

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

‘Tis the season to party, and nothing says party like a sprinkle of glitter.

I am definitely lacking sparkle in the dress department, so thank my lucky stars that I have this fun and festive Essie colour and top coat to help glam up my Christmas and New Years’ party attire. I’m not a ‘sequin gal’ and where there is glitter there is usually a lot of mess (it gets EVERYWHERE!) so I prefer to be a little more subtle when it comes to sparkles.

I love this duo for Winter time as they both look great as stand alone colours, as well as combining the two and showing off that silver sparkle top coat. Whether you want to razzle dazzle your nails over Christmas or start your countdown to 2015 with glam hands, this set is perfect!

So that’s your nails sorted, now for that perfect party pout!

If someone had told me a year ago that I would be obsessing over lip gloss I would not have believed them. 2013 Kate would have said ‘it gets stuck to your hair, then smears all over your face…’ and made any excuse to pass on the gloss and opt for the matte lip instead – oh how the tables have turned!

Tanya Burr’s lip glosses are incredible – the application is easy, non sticky and smell like strawberries! I own a few shades, but this bright red colour in ‘Vampire Kiss’ is perfect for the party season.

Bright Lips and Monochome

Pink pout, pale pins and pretty petals – Summer is here, ladies and gents.

Summer arrived in the UK this weekend, so as the sun came out – so did the legs. Now, whilst I struggle with tanning (thank goodness for St Tropez) I just love the excuse to wear pretty dresses and secretly hope that one day my legs will be sun kissed naturally.
