Within the English county of Worcestershire lies the beautiful Cotswold town of Broadway. Bright lights and yellow cabs there is not, but what you will discover is much more picturesque.
It’s high street boasts horse chestnut trees and signature Cotswold stone cottages, you really couldn’t find a more stunning setting for a day out if you tried. And for one Sunday in September, it’s also where you will find the Broadway Food Festival.
Before being tempted by the treats in the tent, I couldn’t resist a little shop and I sure made myself At Home.
I didn’t want one thing in this shop. I wanted EVERY thing. From the garden tools and bedding to the lights and signs, it was like an Instagrammer’s dream!
After restraining myself not to buy the entire store, we continued our stroll further along the boardwalk to more shops and restaurants to stop off at. I love all the cute little doors covered by the greenest of greenery, can I just live in this one with the blue door please?! (6 is also my lucky number, how lucky!)
This village feels timeless.
Timeless and classic. Like the cars and ice-cream carts.
Just for one day, but wouldn’t it be wonderful to live somewhere who sold ice-cream in this way? I digress. We stopped off for coffee in the most Italian café I could find, Prego. You can sit outdoors and people watch to your heart’s content, one of my most favourite things to do, and most importantly the coffee is delicious!
Full of caffeine, we bounced back up and browsed the book shop and my new favourite store Cotswold Trading. Books, beauty and gifts galore, I know where to come to fulfill my Pinterest-worthy home dreams. Come Christmas and you will most likely find me here. Spending all the pennies.
Before stepping foot onto food festival grounds, I thought it would be sensible to eat lunch first. You know, to stop any impulse purchases that were bound to happen…
Tucked away around the corner and out of the hustle and bustle (it’s amazing the kind of crowd a food fest can bring to a village), you will find Foxy Brown’s. They dished up a delicious bowl of tomato and red pepper soup which satisfied my food cravings, accompanied by a warm crusty bread roll and a couple’a croutons, I sat sipping my soup until I had ran out of bread to dip in it. It reminds me how much I love this time of year, as the weather gets cooler it becomes soup season!
From food to more food – I mean it would be rude not to, right?
The festival is small in comparison to other foodie ones I’ve been to, like the one in Gloucester Quays and in Cheltenham, but it has a variety of things to try and it is only a village after all.
Paul and Mary would be well impressed! ^^
Macarons in the bag, I couldn’t resist a taste or two of Croome’s cheeses. I couldn’t give edam that I had already eaten plenty, however I did promise to briehave myself.
There are stiltons of jokes to be made here but I like to think of myself as quite mature.
I fell in love with this pup – and now I want one. Oh my heart melts….
The clock struck five and it was time to depart. Broadway is the most stunning spot to spend a Sunday…in fact, any day in Broadway is the perfect escape.
