I could get used to island life. Beautiful blues, breathtaking heights and dozens of boats bobbing along the water… It was my second visit to Capri in two years and second impressions proved to be just as good as the first.
A charming place with pretty pink properties lining the streets, it’s not difficult to see why Capri is a popular tourist hotspot.
We arrived just in time for a lunch time aperitif, and hotfooted it to the nearest bar with views to kill.
Sipping on Prosecco, grazing on the best olives I may have ever eaten, watching the world go by on this idyllic island… I could have sat there for hours.
We had a brief encounter with this little guy, making a friendly change to the pigeon pals we were used to in Sorrento.
This view though! Vesuvius even makes a cheeky appearance…
After a lovely liquid lunch and a quick dash into the stunning Capri Hotel to check out use their bathroom, we ventured on to explore more of the town.
Once you pass the hustle and bustle, you can soak up the beauty to your heart’s content.
Ideally you need to spend a good two or three days on the island to explore, a few hours is a great way to sample the delights but not enough to see the breadth of what Capri truly offers. A day trip restricts you as the last boat returns at around 4pm, but it’s a perfect amount of time for you to test the waters and see if it’s the destination for you to return to.

Shopping for the average tourist is minimal, but if you’ve got big bucks to spend then it’s a shopper’s paradise! I enjoyed a spot of window shopping en route to the next location…
Coffee and cake was mandatory.
Indulging on the food and remarkable views from our booth, it was lovely to sit back and take our time soaking up the quiet moments. A haven away from the crowds shuffling through the narrow streets.
It felt like we had only been in Capri for a few minutes before we had to depart back to Sorrento. Taking a taxi ride back down to the Marina (and reality), we waved goodbye to this dreamy scene and enjoyed the boat back to where our day begun.

On a scale of 1-10, how tempted are you to make a quick getaway to this beautiful destination?
