Hello 2020

Hello 2020! It’s been a while, but I’m back. Last year I doubted myself too often about what type of content I should create, what photos to share on social media – even what caption to accompany it – and generally felt quite lost in the blogosphere. I would constantly ask myself, “do people even care about what I have to say? Is what I want to say even interesting?” I realised that I need to stop second guessing everything I do and just do it. So here I am, stripping things back to basics again on here. More travel guides, more chatty posts, more of what I love to consume as well as what I love to write. Thank you for being patient whilst I’ve been trying to find myself again on this platform, and here’s to a new year with new adventures and opportunities.

Why I Stopped Blogging This Summer

I’ve spent a long time debating the reasons why I stopped blogging this summer. I was given some incredible opportunities for the first six months or so of the year and then I suddenly got struck down with imposter syndrome. My motivation and inspiration went from one hundred to zero and I found myself feeling like a fraud. I felt like I didn’t ‘fit in’ online and anything I posted didn’t seem to have a purpose. I know that I’m not the only one to have experienced this, and I certainly won’t be the last. So here I am, back on my corner of the blogosphere typing up my thoughts in the hope that it may help some of you.

A Slice of Italy at Fat Toni’s Pizzeria Cheltenham

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to visit Fat Toni’s Pizzeria in Cheltenham.

You may have heard the rumours, and today I can confirm that the rumours are all true. Fat Toni’s is the daddy of pizza. A slice of Italy in your mouth. My new favourite eating spot in town.

Six Years Later

I can’t quite believe it’s been six whole years since I sat down and wrote the first post on this little corner of the blogosphere. Not only have I grown up in that time, but the blog has certainly changed too. From signing off each post with my initials and an ‘xo’ (back when it was popular to put an ‘xo’ at the end of usernames and signing off messages) to going self-hosted and totally winging it with very little help. This platform has always been my go-to space to visit on good days and bad. It’s got me through a lot, which is why this post is more of a ‘thank you’ for sticking with me throughout this time. Six years later and I’m still sat here at my laptop creating content for this small corner of the internet because quite frankly, I can’t imagine my life without it now.

So, to mark 280 posts I thought I would delve into the archives and share with you some of my favourite posts (for new readers and those of you who have been with me for the long haul). Here’s to the next 6 + years…

Confetti Fields, Worcestershire

If you haven’t heard about the confetti fields in Worcestershire, I’m not quite sure where you’ve been. Open for just 10 days at the end of June/start of July, this flower field has become an Instagrammer’s pastel paradise and can be found all over social media. Whilst you’ll have to wait another year to capture the beauty with your own eyes (and cameras), here are a few snaps from my recent visit which may tempt you to add it to your 2019 calendar…

Taking a Leap of Faith

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about change. Perhaps the hot weather has got to me and I’m over-thinking things, but I do believe change can be good. Taking a leap of faith can be daunting but maybe it’s the best thing you can do for yourself. You can spend a long time thinking about it yet it never feels quite right, but let me tell you why now is the perfect time…

Let’s Catch Up: What’s Happening in Cheltenham

Well, look at that! Two months has flown by without me creating any new content. It’s not that I haven’t thought about it, I’ve definitely had all the guilty feels about neglecting my little corner of the internet. Sometimes, when life gets busy and sweeps you off your feet, it can feel a little overwhelming and all you want to do when you get home is pop on your pyjamas and curl up on the sofa watching Love Island. With plenty of new content to look forward to over the coming weeks, I thought I’d kick it off with a “let’s catch up” and chat about what’s happening in Cheltenham.

My Favourite Under £40 Dresses for Spring

With the recent burst of sunshine to hit the UK, I’m keen to add some Spring style into my wardrobe. Goodbye heavy coats, layers upon layers and winter warmers. Hello pastel hues, cute cardi’s and short sleeves. With this in mind, I have compiled my favourite under £40 dresses for Spring, on a budget of course.

Spring is coming…

Back Where I Belong

Hello! I’m back where I belong – on the blog and creating content again.

The last few months of my life have been an adventure. The best few months of my life, in fact. After unintentionally taking some time out to immerse myself in living in the moment and not feeling the need to document experiences and thoughts for the blog, I’m ready to return to my little corner of the internet and kick off a new year with fresh new content.

Are you ready?

Babel, Cheltenham

I can’t quite keep up with all the new bars and restaurants opening in Cheltenham at the moment. Not that I’m complaining, too much choice is better than no choice at all, right? So when I heard about Babel joining the line up, I jumped at the chance of an exclusive taster evening…
